Rev. Fr. Theodore was given an another award earlier this year by the Archdiocesan Laity Council for his immense Contributions to the Lay Faithfuls.
Speaking to SPM Crew©, Fr Theo as he's fondly called dedicated his award to the Parish who has supported him thus Far. He said, "I'm flattered with that award to be frank. All the honour really goes to the Ogbe family who made everything possible. I dedicate the award to the entire Parish for our collective support. Nonetheless, I appreciate the kindness behind the award."
On the Ogbe Family winning the 4th edition of the Archbishop Adewale Martins family quiz competition, he said , "The award to the Ogbe family exemplifies the family well known commitment to matters of the church. It simply runs in the family and their efforts have been rewarded. The competition as a whole contributed to the ongoing effort to create a greater sense of knowledge and appreciation of our Catholic doctrines. It is an obligation for all Catholics, and not only the family-participants, to know and understand the essentials of our teachings. Above all, to have the Ogbe family of our Parish emerge overall winner was a so fulfilling to them and delightful to the entire Parish community. The award should also motivate the entire Parish in our effort to grow in our faith."
Not forgetting the award to the most outstanding cathecist, Mr Odey, he praised him for his contributions in impacting the faith by his teachings, he had this to say,
" I congratulate Mr. Odey, the president of the Catechist Association as well as his colleagues for their tireless efforts in impacting and passing on the faith to all the families within the family. You surely deserve this honour. I pray God honours you with the crown of eternal glory. Amen."
The Champions 19' - The Ogbe's
The Ogbe family did us proud ... Quite a Large family! The Ogbe family joined the parish in the first quarter of 2007, (then known as All Souls Catholic Church, an outstation of St Ferdinand Catholic church, Boys town, Ipaja)Since 2007 till date. Members of this family have been indirectly actively involved in the growth of the church by Joining most of the Societies and Associations in the Church such as Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate heart of Mary, Board of Lectors, Cathecists, Choir, Altar Servers, Apostleship of prayer league of the sacred heart of Jesus, Divine mercy, amongst others! Some family members were infact Pioneers of some of the above listed societies in the Parish!
Not forgetting several positions some members of the Ogbe family have held in the Parish at different times - Members/Executives of the Laity council, Harvest Committee and the Parish Finance Council!
It's a Sad thing to remember the 30th of August, 2017 in the life of the Ogbe's when the Cold hands of Death snatched Pa Godwin Ogbe after a brief illness (May his soul rest in Peace) .... But this has not impeded the active participation of the members of the family in contributing to the growth of the Church especially their recent feat at the Archdiocese which has brought joy to the Parish, Ipaja deanery and Ikeja Region at Large
The members of the family that Participated in the Competition are:
¶ Mrs Patricia Ogbe
¶ Theresa Ogbe
¶ Jude Ogbe
¶ Martins Ogbe
¶ Stephen Ogbe
¶ Godwin Ogbe(Jnr)
